Powerful Tools for Caregivers  

Managing Stress Workshop - Virtual Event

Cumberland County Council on Older Adults is offering the Managing Stress workshop for family caregivers, which is a part of the Powerful Tools for Caregivers program. This offering will be virtual only at this time.

Attendees must have computer or large tablet with microphone, camera, and reliable internet connection for classes.

Assisting Older Adults Class - Virtual Event       

Feb 23  | 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.


Cumberland County Council on Older Adults is offering their Assisting Older Adults class for family caregivers, professional caregivers, friends, volunteers, or anyone else interested in learning a bit more about caregiving resources and tips.

Class includes information on: 

  • Care Options
  • Potential areas of need to consider
  • Having difficult conversations
  • Expectations for caregivers
  • Dementia
  • Self-care for the caregiver

Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Virtual:  4:330 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. |   Zoom! (Must have computer or Fayetteville, NC 28303 tablet with microphone, camera, reliable internet for classes) 


Cumberland County Council on Older Adults is offering Powerful Tools for Caregivers to give you the skills to take care of yourself while caring for someone else. 

By taking care of your own health and well-being, you become a better caregiver. 

Six 90 minute classes held once a week are led by experienced class leaders.

Class participants are given The Caregiver Helpbook to accompany the class and provided additional caregiver resources, all at no cost. 

The classes give you tools to help: 

• Reduce stress • Locate helpful resources • Improve self-confidence • Better communicate your feelings  • Manage time, set goals, and solve problems • Make tough decisions

Caregiver Support Group

This support group is open to anyone in a caregiver role, including family and professional caregivers. All information is confidential within a support group.

Angela Boles with AOS Care Management facilitates this monthly caregiver support group. She is devoted to providing the necessary tools and resources needed to accommodate the individual needs of each caregiver.  If you are not available to participate and you need to talk or share concern, give Angela at call; 9100.692.0683.
