CaregiverNC Website Connects Caregivers and Care Seekers Statewide

SOUTHERN PINES—The need for safe, quality and affordable home care services for older adults is on the rise along with the aging population. As older adults make the choice to age in place—remaining at home and living independently—it escalates a need for properly vetted caregivers, who can assist them with non-medical services such as transportation, meal preparation and personal care.

Recognizing this need, Aging Outreach Services (AOS), a multi-faceted eldercare firm based in Southern Pines, has launched CaregiverNC—a statewide, Web-based platform for care seekers in search of private-duty caregivers.

“We have been in the business of screening and credentialing private-duty caregivers for 16 years,” says Amy Natt, MS, CMC, CSA, Aging Life Care™ manager, president and CEO of AOS. “As the aging population in North Carolina grows, we wanted to make these services available in a more accessible way. Consumers looking for private-duty care need a safe platform to connect with caregivers.”

CaregiverNC is part of a larger family of services offered through AOS that provides consumers with options for identifying and meeting their immediate and long-term care needs.

“As an accredited caregiver registry, our standards are high,” Natt says. “Each caregiver must go through a 10-step process of credentialing prior to being accessible on the site. Older adults, family members, and eldercare professionals turn to AOS for professional services that have a long-standing reputation for excellence.”

Visitors to the CaregiverNC.com website can create a profile that describes the characteristics of the ideal caregiver to meet their needs. The database then matches them with a list of pre-screened caregivers to choose from who meet their criteria. This process puts consumers in control, helping them easily and confidently find the home care professional who’s right for them.

Caregivers who visit CaregiverNC.com and want to join may register—and once approved—showcase their skills to be matched with potential care seekers. CaregiverNC is not the employer of the caregiver or care seeker; the site is intended to provide a platform for those marketing and seeking non-medical, private-duty care services.

“Our Web-based platform matches caregivers and consumers on a variety of criteria,” Natt says. “Finding the right person to bring into your home is one of the most important decisions a consumer will make. It is our hope that the CaregiverNC platform provides access to the resources consumers need to age with success.”
